Admiral Cigarette Unknown 1897 USA Several men, clad in various costumes, are visited by an admiral who gives them all cigarettes, and a banner for them to hold saying, "We all smoke." Credited as or thought to be the first ever advertisement in moving images, it presents a cross-section of American culture and/or history in its costumes, and the staging of its visual composition is well-handled.
