Démolition d'un mur Demolition of a Wall Louis Lumière 1895 France Workers knock a brick wall until it falls over into a pile of rubble and dust. When this was exhibited it was shown twice - once as it was shot, then shown backwards. The result is a subtle thought-provoker from which might stem a philosophical discussion on the nature of the camera and its image. Does the camera kill the event it is capturing, for instance? There is definitely something beautiful in all of this, either way.
