2 ou 3 choses que je sais d'elle 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her Jean-Luc Godard 1967 France A bored housewife in Paris turns to prostitution. As if making a comment on the impossibility of separating form and content, Godard makes a boring film about a boring woman, and has her embody society's class divide and other social matters (the "her" of the title is Paris). He either isn't interested in acting or is unable to draw attractive performances from bland actors, but the result is a messy film, not without its moments, that would have been a lot better had the director cast his regular muse Anna Karina in the lead role. The best or most notable bits are few and far between: a cup of coffee forming a close-up resembling the Milky Way; a similar shot of a cigarette end as the Sun; and the two-way conversations near the end in which people discuss observing, seeing, perception, words and languages. But it lacks the visual wit to rank alongside earlier films, and doesn't really add anything new to his oeuvre to be of lasting significance.
