The 13th Warrior John McTiernan 1997 USA Viking warriors bent on destroying a marauding tribe of cannibals take in an Arab poet. Bizarre fantasy adventure, very brutal and violent, from a director who makes good action films - in fact, McTiernan, save for Die Hard, seems largely overlooked, critically. This, along with his other films, is heavily in need of a rewatch, but for now, let us remember with surreal, bewildered impressions visuals of mad viking warriors storming a camp with fiery bats.
