How many festivals do you have in your vicinity?

Just in the 2008 thread you mentioned waiting for the local festival so you could see more 2008 titles, and I thought that meant it was coming up soon, but if Wendy and Lucy played at last year's it must've been after Cannes. When is it?

It's late July, early August. They do have a decent amount of '08 titles, 15 of the films i saw are listed as '08 on IMDB (and two more than played that i didn;'t see i've since seen on release in '08), but mostly it's stuff from late on in the previous year and i won't get to around 70 or 80 IMDB listed '08 films until the next festival is over. Being American and having that girl from Dawson's Creek in it makes Wendy and Lucy a better sell first time round i suppose.

Ha, oh yeah! I completely forgot Williams was in Dawson's Creek.
I've got the Dublin festival next month. I think it's a good time of year to hold it, and this year should be interesting, since a new 4-screen arthouse cinema opened here last May, so this'll be their first year taking part, and they'll be fully into it. I suppose that's why the festival's been extended from ten to twelve days this year.

Cool, sounds fun, winter is deo the best time for sitting in a warm dark room with strangers! i love seeing the totally obscure stuff that never sees the light of day at the fests! The one here is the biggest in the southern hemisphere, 19 days worth! But the quality is actually falling a little as they have a new director. I didn't know you were living in Dublin, i always thought you from the US?

Old Joy Wendy and Lucy mods, please delete that thread I just started. It's locked and I can't edit it.
