Peter Whitehead(1937 - )English public schoolboy orphan who made films practially alone by turning his camera on the beat generation, Peter Brook performances and the "swinging" 60s to debunk their importance. Then became slightly more ambitious in the 70s before having a bit of a meltdown and moving to Saudi Arabia to raise falcons for 20 years!!! I think he was yet another who spent a bit of time with Nico.....or one of those type of girls from that era anyway. Now writes looong sci-fi type books and does a lot of pottery Features:1. What are your thoughts on The Fall? I read an article about it a couple months ago and I was somewhat interested in seeing it.

It's one of the most self-indulgent films i've ever seen. Whitehead begins by trying to make a very adhoc, haphazard piece about the student protests in NY, but ends up turning the camera on himself as he becomes too involved and becomes quite emotionally strained.....you can see that it was the turning point for him and led to his breakdown and rejection of the film world. It was like watching someone's psyche unfold in front of your eyes...and ears! As it's very loud. I won't say too much more, but defo have a look at it as i'd be interested in another's thoughts on it.

Yeah I'll check it out if I can find a copy somewhere. I have yet to see any of his films, as they are somewhat difficult to find.
