Hmm, I can choose between seeing Spirited Away on Wednesday, or The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. I haven't seen any Studio Gibli stuff, but am not the biggest Gilliam fan, but feel like I need to develop a taste for him.
Note to self: make a film on being in two places at the same time (imagine how cool that would be?).

>>> filmick.co.uk At the Art Director's Guild Excellence in Production Design Awards last night, Terry Gilliam was granted the special prize for Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery. They're not wrong.
In his acceptance speach Gilliam commented on the great production designers of the last century plus. "The worlds they created were so wondrous. Not so many people are allowed to do that now, to create worlds so magical. I'm one of the lucky ones to slip through the net and do it."
"I'm still trying to make movies that don't depend on the computer to do it. The digital world that I have are these digits [holding up his hand] that make things and build things. Let's keep doing great work."
Tideland, sadly, won nothing in the year's best categories, however, losing out to Casino Royale in Best Contemporary Production Design and, I suppose, Pan's Labyrinth in Best Fantasy Production Design.
Onetime Gilliam collaborator Jeffrey Beescroft (see: Twelve Monkeys) did win Best Production Design in a Commercial, Promo or PSA for his work on the Victoria's Secret (What Is) Sexy spots.

Just noticed the three stars for Tideland. Heard it was horrendous.

I thought it was superb. I very nearly gave it four (maybe on a rewatch). It's the darkest and most confrontational film he's made, though. It's been extremely divisive.

Yeah I remember Ebert and/or Roeper saying it was the worst film they'd seen in years.

Really? Well, Ebert has obvious moral issues with horror films and Roeper is a twit.
The following comments are all from rotten reviews on RottenTomatoes.
Sound interesting? It really is.

If I recall correctly, didn't Capo refer to Fear and Loathing as a "self-indulgent mess"?
I really don't understand how you can get that from this film at all.
