What did you like about Il Decameron? I really enjoyed Pasolini's part in the film, especially the final words. For me, it was at that point the film went beyond a comical (and sometimes serious) adaptation, with interesting period detail, to a meditation on art and the creative process, with all the stories tied together by none other than the filmmaker himself. But what is the point in creating in comparison to dreaming?

But what is the point in creating in comparison to dreaming? I didn't understand His final line (can't remember word-for-word, or locate it on the net) asks what the point of creating something is when it never turns out like you planned, only rewarding us in the initial dream. Pasolini is known to have thought "The Hawks and the Sparrows" to be his only film that turned out like he had hoped.

But what is the point in creating in comparison to dreaming? I didn't understand Haha, reading this now, I don't understand it! ;D I will get a chance to rewatch "Salo" this semester in film club. We watched the last ten minutes last semester. Even though I've only seen it twice (and watched plenty of clips on the you tube), I think Teorema is one of my favorite films.
