Watching Lost before Mad Men, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, and Friday Night Lights? For shame.
I have never heard of FNL before, the only one among those you listed that is available on netflix streaming. Do you already have a thread for it (I will check for one, if not please start one to discuss this)?
I believe I recommended it to you because of the Taylors' marriage portrayal in at least one thread. It might've been in the Bergman thread to follow up on recommendations I gave concerning films that dealt with relationships.
The Taylors' marriage and the Matt-Julie story are A+ material in my book. Some of the stories, I give an F to. (Most notably Lyla's story.) And the off-field football stuff gets more engrossing as the series goes on. The actual games are lacking like any fictional sports games on film.
My wife started watching Lost based on a recommendation from her friend and I joined. I kind of feel happy to check out the series that are available for streaming, as I wouldn't be blocking my Q. Sopranos is somewhere in my Q, but I am yet to enqueue SFU.
Don't get me wrong. I enjoy Lost for the fluff that it is, nothing more. I'm highly anticipating its upcoming final season
The season 3 finale is one of the most entertaining tv episodes I've ever seen. There are two other, I think, Lost episodes I feel the same way about. I'm serious.
BTW, I am considering purchase of entire Wire box set. I see it available for close to $87 - If you have any recommended place to purchase DVDs, please let me know.
That's a sweet deal. I believe Best Buy and Amazon had that same deal last Christmas season.
