No, I meant to post it in the Proview thread. Sorry.
I'm not sure I would like it if Soderbergh worked with Bond. But Polanski! That would be interesting...

I'd like to see Sean Penn direct a Bond film. Or George Clooney.

Polanski was the better idea in my mind, but Soderbergh made an excellent heist movie, and an excellent drug trafficing movie. Blend the action of one with the subject of the other maybe.... I like Tarantino, but not for Bond. His directing is too, for the lack of a better word,....loud. He adds a lot of different style to any movie he does, and his films would look really out of place among the others

#10 The Living Daylights 1987, John Glen Bond Actor: Tim Dalton The last of the one star films, then we move up a level again. I'm somewhat happy that all six actors to play 007 have at least one apperence in the top 10, although one or two more efforts from Daniel Craig and this will likely get the bump. This movie has probably like the 5 best Dalton moments, then it has a few boring parts. Personally I liked the scene in the airplane about 3/4ths of the way throughout the best. The bad guy department is probably where this film lacks the most. One bad guy isnt intimatding, the other has very little screen time. Also, oddly enough, the actor in one of the villian roles plays a CIA agent in a Felix Leiter like role in a later film. I hate inconsistencys like this. Oh well. Anyways, if youre gonna watch a Dalton Bond movie, watch this one.

#9 For Your Eyes Only 1981, John Glen Bond Actor: Roger Moore This movie opens with an idiotic sequence, that was probably only put in the movie as a fuck you to the people involved in the James Bond lawsuits (I wont spoil it though...). After that, it is a pretty entertaining Bond flick. All the Bond movies go over the top to some extent, but this one is somewhat tamer than the standard, which heavily benfits it in my mind. The highlight is a very cool rock climing seqence near the end, one of the few types of Bond action scenes that is exclusive to one movie (unless Im forgetting another rock climb, but I dont think so). My main complaint is the talking parrot. I hate talking parrots in movies. Always WAY too smart.

#8 Thunderball 1965, Terence Young Bond Actor: Sean Connery Ive only named two of the six Connery movies before this point. Having 4 of the 8 best makes him the best Bond in my mind. This is the worst of what I consider to be the good Connery films, but it is still pretty good. My biggest complaint I suppose is that the most excitement comes in the middle of the film, and the ending is somewhat boring by comparison. In the middle, we see one of my 5 or so favorite Bond scenes, where he is put in a shark tank. Near the ending, there is a huge underwater battle that won Thunderball the special fx Oscar, but watching it now in 2006, it really just seems to keep dragging on. I cant really say Im a fan of giant battles in Bond films. I like when he does it alone. Lots of fun times in this movie. Poker, beautiful woman, a cool bad guy, great gadgets. Solid 007 movie.

#7 Dr. No 1962, Terence Young Bond Actor: Sean Connery This movie has its flaws. The bad guy shows up way too late, the Bond girl appears abruptly and for no real reason, it drags here and there. On the flip side however, Dr. No is one of the coolest bad guys when he does appear, Ursula Andress is probably the hottest of all the Bond girls, and the movie is really the one that started them all. Im sure it wasnt as cool a scene when this first came out, but hearing "Bond, James Bond" is perhaps the most unforgettable part of the entire series. I greatly enjoyed all of the scenes in the final fortress as well. Dr. No is a great villian, and the time he is in the movie is probably why I dont have this film ranked 5 spots lower.

#6 Casino Royale 2006, Martin Campbell Bond Actor: Daniel Craig I dont really consider this to be the "best Bond ever", or even close to it really, as all the current commercials would have you believe, but it is an extremely solid movie in the series. Daniel Craig is excellent at Bond. I imagine if I were to read the books having never seen the Bond movies, and then all 6 actors were put in front of me and I had to pick a Bond, Id pick him. Hes got a badass look to him that all the other guys lacked. This movie went to great lengths to be gritty and realistic, and for the most parts really succeeds. I really liked the opening sequence, the song, the action sequences throughout, and the main antagonist. There are some things that broke tradition, which I sort of didnt like. The gunshot at the beginning of the other films was actually weaved into a scene, which was sort of lame. Theres no Q and Moneypenny, yet no real real reason why they shouldnt have been worked in. I would have loved to see Bonds initial reactions to both these characters that he has a long standing relationships with in all the other movies. Maybe in the next one, we will see. Bond is back, Id catch this on the big screen while theres still a chance

#5 GoldenEye 1995, Martin Campbell Bond Actor: Pierce Brosnan This movie, and probably even more so the video game based on it, is really the first to give my generation any reason to care about Bond. Much much better than the License to Kill, which killed the series for 6 years. This movie pits Bond against the opponent most similar to him, which makes for a fascinating rivalry throughout the movie. The supporting characters, Boris, Xenia, and Oromov are all fun. This movie all contains my favorite visit to Q Branch. Overall this movie has a very solid story, and is jam-packed with excellent action. Easily the best of the four Brosnan contributions to this series.

I'd put both behind Banjo-Kazooie and Super Mario 64, the two best games ever.
N64 ruled.
We should have a video game forum.

We should have a video game forum. Not a bad idea. All the games mentioned are spectacular, but does anyone remember Body Harvest? Now that was the best game I ever played.

Yeah, that was a great game. I'd like to play a remake. That was by the original GTA guys, DMA, wasn't it? I'm not sure if they just changed their name to Rockstar or if the franchise was rehoused.
I'm kind of derailing this thread... sorry.

My favorite game for N64 had to be Wrestlemania 2000. I played that shit for HOURS. I would have my cousins and friends come over and we would play Royal Rumbles, everytime someone got eliminated they had to give the controller to the next person. Those were some good times.

Refresh my memory on Body Harvest... A little red robot man travels through time (WWI Greece, WWII Java, the American southwest of the 1960's, Siberia right after the fall of communism, and an alien comet in the near future) and kills off giant bugs and insects. I remember their being many references to films throughout. In fact, in one level in the Java section, "Star Wars", "The African Queen", and "Apocalypse Now" are all referenced, with two characters even made to look like Humphrey Bogart and Marlon Brando! It was on N64.
