How about "Revolution"? I was always under the impression that it was horrible. I was surprised to see it among the list of films.

Children of Paradise is a must-see. For my money, one of France's greatest films. But it's already on DVD if that matters.
If I recall correctly, none of those Akermans besides The Captive and Jeanne Dielman are available on DVD anywhere. From the East is cited often as one of the best films of the 90s.
The films I've seen I won't recommend because I don't like them enough, if at all, or I don't think you'd like them.
If you think it'll help, I can point out what has been, more or less, getting positive reviews or has been getting coverage, good or bad, but I'm sure you've heard/read the same about the same films.

There's a French box-set of Akerman's work complete with English subtitles available on the net somewhere, i've seen the whole thing, but yeah seeing Dielman on the big screen would be a major experience.

I'd highly recommend The Captive also, but it's on DVD through Artificial Eye. I'm personally interested in Two Lovers and The Desert Within, but can't recommend something i haven't seen. O'Horten and Derek are worth watching though......not the most exciting festival program i've seen!

No, it's not, I've always got a list of a half-dozen films from the previous year that I'm hoping will play (this year: Jia, Egoyan, Denis, Koreeda, Reichardt, Kaufman) and I'm lucky if one of them plays (this year: Kaufman) - and since I'm a bit skint and also want to see Three Monkeys and Friday the 13th next weekend I think I'll leave it at just those four screenings. I was kind of vaguely interested in going to The Captive, since Akerman will be in attendance, but I can't imagine having much to ask her.

I ended up sleeping in and missing Jeanne Dielman.
The IFI is fucking up my shit tomorrow too, they're only playing Three Monkeys at 13:40. I had planned on going into my 9:00 lecture and then doing some work in the library and then heading in for the 16/17:00 show, because Synecdoche, New York isn't on until 20:30. So now I've got more than four hours to kill. I might go see The Song of Sparrows at 16:30, that sounds good.
I better get some sleep tonight or I'll be wiped out for the Kaufman film.

No, I just didn't get any sleep last night. I'm not going, it's too far to go to end up dozing off in the cinema.
It's out on DVD in a few weeks anyway.
I'll go see Three Monkeys sometime this week though. How was it?

Haha.
Being tired at Jeanne Dielman would be disastrous.
