Can we just post them here or is it 100% private voting?
personally I like the option of public, so if I fuck up the lead/supporting thing or the original/adapted screenplay I can be corrected

Yeah, I think nominations should stay public. For the reason Jrod stated I think it's crucial, so we don't get any cross-category screwups.

There didn't seem to be a consensus on Best Trailer. I'm against it, I think there are enough categories. And we're not doing Best Title Sequence; that was Capo's idea, but he said he was indifferent to it himself, so...

mise-en-scène refers to everything that appears before the camera and its arrangement – sets, props, actors, costumes, and lighting.[1] Mise-en-scène also includes the positioning and movement of actors on the set, which is called blocking. These are all the areas overseen by the director, and thus, in French film credits, the director's title is metteur en scène, "putter on scene."

I am pissed! Just found out late last night that "Che" is playing in Atlanta as one four hour long epic, just until tomorrow! Then, starting Friday, it will be shown as two separate parts. I have class at odd times today, and can't miss either of them. And tomorrow, I am leaving in the early afternoon for another state. Oh well. At least I'll get to see it somehow before the awards. I didn't think I would get to at all.

It's how the literal information in a frame - how it has been composed and placed - lends meaning to a thematic subtext.
As an example, where characters are framed in relation to other characters, and how this placement goes toward defining the relation between the two. As an example, think of the extreme widescreen deployed in Wyler's Ben-Hur, and how early scenes between Judah and Messala show the two a large distance apart - not only is that making use of the widescreen in itself, it also shows the gulf between the two personalities.
(But it's not just about the placement of information; it's about lighting too, which goes toward the 'tone' of the shot. Some argue that soundtrack should be included in mise-en-scene, too. For example, the sound of torrential rain in Seven or overhead helicopters in Boyz N the Hood; the former giving a depressing feeling, the latter a feeling of constant threat or chaos.)
I always think of Vertigo as a masterpiece of mise-en-scene. Perhaps not by coincidence, a masterpiece in general.

I wouldn't mind another week to catch up... I have a lot of stuff downloaded.
