Ive always wondered, if you got the 100 best Street Fighter players, would any of them say that someone other than Ryu or Ken is their preference? I would doubt it.

Béla Tarr and Gus Van Sant nominated for both best film and worst film. No accounting for taste obviously

Can't wait to see this one. He's fantastic in it. DeWitt was one of the few things I really liked in RGM, and maybe the only thing I dislike about Mad Men is not enough Rosemarie in Season 1. When Zegerman was onscreen, she had my undivided attention. Great presence. I loved the vibe she gave off for her character.
I was under the impression that this category is only open to 2007 IMDb-dated films regardless of what year the viewer saw the film(s). If that's not the case, I'll make a change by nominating Still Life.

Small change to my ballot. I initially had nothing under Original Score, but seeing Omar's ballot reminded me of Shotgun Stories.' So another vote for Shotgun Stories.

Have you seen/heard of Garage, Kino? I thought the same when I saw everyone nominating IMDb-2006 titles. I'm looking at the Preparation thread from last year, and you and I had a brief exchange on the question, but it wasn't resolved. There was also talk of making certain titles from the award year ineligible based on the same criteria by which certain titles from the previous year were thenceforth eligible, so the likes of Don't Touch the Axe and You, the Living would've been made ineligible, and thus would've been eligible this year, but it looks like that idea received the kibosh.

Anasazie, you can change your Retrospective nominations if you like, since it was unclear.

I love the score for "Shotgun Stories". Very soft and nice. I'm drawn to scores like that more, they stay in my mind longer after the fact. I downloaded two of Lucero's albums after the film, but they're stuff is more heavier than the music for the film.

I downloaded two of Lucero's albums after the film, but they're stuff is more heavier than the music for the film. I just looked up if Hold Me Close, the end credits song, is on any of Lucero's albums and it is. There's only two pieces of music used in the entire film, right? And the one that's played the most and used as a score is an extended loop version of Hold Me Close which is on Lucero's 2005 album. So, it's not necessarily an original piece, I think. Should the mods strike Shotgun Stories from the category? I don't remember any other piece of nondiegetic music used in the film.

Have you seen/heard of Garage, Kino? Yeah, a little. Winning an award (or awards) at Cannes and elsewhere led me to put it on my to-see list in my head. I've seen the trailer and liked it. Going off of the little I heard about it and a little browsing on the official site, it seems to be my cup of tea. I'm also really looking forward to Joanna Hogg's Unrelated. Duane Hopkins' Better Things is another one but to a lesser extent as well as Thomas Clay's seemingly divisive Soi Cowboy. Have you seen any of these? At the same level of anticipation of Unrelated for me is Scherfig's An Education. I think there's another UK film or two I have on my radar, but can't remember them right now. I had a feeling it was an issue that was discussed before. I totally forgot about our convo about it, though.
