yearly breakdown like RNLs noted IMDb 2008s on some that I think should still count. 0 indicates dislike, 1 is indifference, 2-4 are varying degrees of enjoyment. I am perpetually 2 years behind in the non-English stuff for one reason or another, so sorry about its lack of representation. There will be plenty on an overall decade award list. The Hurt Locker (08), Inglourious Basterds Two Lovers (08), Brothers Bloom (08), In the Loop, Up in the Air, The Hangover, Coraline, Adventureland, Humpday, (500) Days of Summer Food, Inc. (08), Gomorrah (08), Goodbye Solo (08), Hunger (08), Sugar (08), Up, 9, Everybody's Fine, The Informant!, Public Enemies, Funny People, Observe and Report, Avatar, The Girlfriend Experience, District 9, Limits of Control, Big Fan, World's Greatest Dad, Sonicsgate Invention of Lying, Drag Me to Hell, Let Me Put My Thoughts in You, I Love You Man, Watchmen, Family Guy Something Something Something Dark Side, Monsters vs. Aliens, Star Trek (0) Sunshine Cleaning (08), Tyson (08), State of Play, Night at the Museum 2: Battle for the Smithsonian, Powder Blue, Extract, Year One, New York I Love You, Antichrist, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Whatever Works, An American Affair, Bruno, Taking Woodstock, The Soloist, American Pie Presents: The Book of Love, Terminator Salvation, Shrink, The Proposal, XMen Origins: Wolverine, Taking of Pelham 123, GI Joe Rise of the Cobra, Angels & Demons, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, Away We Go, Knowing, and Kobe Doin Work: A Spike Lee Joint while 0 indicates dislike, I have to say I had a direct hatred toward Kobe Doin Work and Away We Go. Both will definately be among my worst film category.

We need a list posted in here of every IMDb-2008 film that received a nomination last year.

I thought TWO LOVERS came out last year? I didn't see it until mid 09 and imdb has official release dates for US, UK and Oz as 09.....of course in played in festivals in late 08, but no widespread release aside from France.

Do festival screenings ever count as an "official" screening?
Because in my book, it doesn't.

Well of course they count as official 'screenings', that's what IMDB bases the year of the film on, the first official screening, which aside from blockbusters is always at a festival. I'm talking about official 'release' dates, where the film picks up a distributor and can be seen more widespread.....the exact rules for which films can be included that Capo mentioned at the beginning.
A lot of films i'll be nominating wouldn't get a widespread theatrical release, they're mostly seen at festivals until they appear on DVD. So in your book none of those films have had 'official' screenings?

Lets put it this way: HURT LOCKER was screened in some 2008 festivals.
It's probably the favorite to win the Best Picture Oscar next sunday, or at least Bigelow is the favorite to win Director.
For the year 2009.
Is it 2008 or 09 movie?

Well according to the guidelines Capo gave me, if it didn't have a widespread theatrical release until 2009 and no one saw it and thus nominated at FCM for last years awards, then it's eligible for this years awards. But if someone had seen it at a fest in 08 and nominated it for an award here last year, it wouldn't be eligible......
So for this FCM awards thing, it's 09...hell that film's 2010 in Oz as it's only just be released and i don't remember it playing at any fests last year or the year before.

I see Jrod's seen The Soloist.....which actor is the lead in that Jrod? Also, Kino nominated Gomorrah and Hunger (myself also) last year. Its RDJs story and he has much more screentime so I would be tempted to call him the lead. Foxx has the more award bait and showy kind of role. Their dynamic is rather similar to the Cruise/Hoffman one in Rain Man.

Cool, i've got Downey marked as the lead too.

Cruise and Hoffman are both leads in Rain Man though. (I haven't seen The Soloist.)
Since none of us are on the festival circuit - ie, none of us are professional film critics - it'd be silly to discount a film on the grounds it had a screening none of us could attend a few years ago.
Let common sense reign.

Also, Kino nominated Gomorrah and Hunger (myself also) last year. That wasn't me. I think Omar, Pherdy, and Capo did.

My final Nominations Ballot
In red, are choices that, by the current rules, are ineligible. I submit them as such in an attempt to hopefully get the runners to consider rule amendment. In the event that those films are still ineligible, I made up for their inclusion by making sure I still had five eligible films left over after deleting the ineligible ones in the category. If the ineligible ones are ruled eligible, I made sure to place the formerly ineligible ones within the first five places of each category to eliminate questions of which films to exclude which would be the one(s) in black font mentioned last starting with the one at the bottom of the category.
Also, I think the rule for excluding films nominated by anyone last year should be modified to excluding films that made the final ballot. Films that were nominated the previous year should still be eligible if they weren't popular enough to make the final ballot because not enough people saw them. That didn't come into play for me this year as Still Walking just missed the cut, but the situation might come into play next year or the year after that. A possible measure to prevent run-over for two consecutive years is to put a two year window on eligibility.
Best Film Munyurangabo (per IMDb, no theatrical release in the UK, US, Australia, and South Korea until 2009 in the US; two year gap, reasonable?) The Beaches of Agnes Revanche Sugar 35 Shots of Rum Sin nombre
