You know what to do.
Anyway isn't it awesome that Starman and the director of POINT BREAK won Oscars?

Meh. Are people even still interested in the Oscars?

Meh. Are people even still interested in the Oscars? 42 million Americans say they still are. Capo my friend: Don't confuse FCM for everywhere else. I mean just look at the past weekend's box office.

Haha, fair enough.
I actually meant 'people [who have any serious thought for the film industry]'. You know, us immortals who hate everything everyone else likes not because we can but because we ought to.

Big bloated events that really are quite shallow and don't merit the hype. Yet the culture still deems a SB ring and an Oscar to have great prestige. I mean there is a reason why Martin Scorsese jobbed most of the past decade to finally win one. Or why United Artists wrote Michael Cimino a blank check.

Super Bowl is won by being the best on the field (Super Bowl XL excluded).
Oscars are about publicity. I mean, no one actually thinks Jennifer Hudson and Whoopi Goldberg are good actresses.
