That's a 'remake', but I suppose it might be worth a look. Inevitably it'll be diluted.

Unless it involves some graphic killing of babies (should be possible with technology 30 years after the original), I don't see it really disturbing a lot of people. That is the only area of 'innocence' still unexplored.

It only really works so well because Deodato is/was an exploitation filmmaker himself, so it's not a simple condemnation of the genre from the outside. There's a certain honesty and to it, and a sense of soul-searching on the part of a guy who's been there and done that and subsequently, seemingly, went back. And as I said elsewhere, the way the meta-film is framed is, as far as I know, unique, and a very effective device.
