Was that an excerpt from the film? "This video has been removed by the user." But yeah, I think you'd like it.

I watched it yesterday. Amazing. Netflix doesn't carry it for some reason, but I'm almost positive that there is a R1 DVD out of it.

Can anyone give me a quick comparison of Tarkovksky's Solaris with Soderbergh's?
I greatly enjoyed the latter.

Tarkovsky's is longer, slower, vaguer and thematically broader. It's also more episodic and formally erratic.
Tarkovsky disliked it (and Ivan's Childhood).

I'm shocked that some of you don't give Solyaris full marks...it's one of the best films I've ever seen! Its wonderful, complex exploration of the idea of Love, and its search for ultimate truth in life is beyond words; it brought me to tears. Stunning film.
Stalker, Zerkalo, and Solyaris might be 3 out of the 10 best films I've ever seen.

Just six. I have a list of potential five-star movies I want to rewatch soon, though.

Solaris (undecided b/w 2 or 3 stars) I don't understand why so many people rate Solyaris so low.

Is there confusion? Everybody seems to agree it's 1974...?
