Before Sunrise Newton Boys, The Tape School of Rock, The Before Sunset It's great he's trying so many different things (I'm looking forward to seeing Waking Life and it's followup Scanner Darkly) but I'm afraid it has a negative effect on the level of his films. Bad News Bears looks like remake of School of Rock, with Billy "Bad Santa" Bob as a baseball coach instead of a rock musician. Probably not bad but not great. I prefer his dialogue films.

Where'd you see SubUrbia? I can't find that anywhere.

I've just finished watching it. I taped it off Five a few months back. Late at night (no commercials).

Ah. I don't get that channel. It's never been released on DVD, and I've tried to download it three times, and every time got this.

I've got "Tape", "Slacker", and "Waking Life" sitting at home from Netflix. I'd like to get to them this weekend, but I've got a lot planned, and still need to watch the four films requested toward me.

It was amusing enough, but it was way too frivolous a treatment of the subject matter, like Linklater just filmed the scenes he felt he could get the best goofs/trips out of and put very little effort into building a cinematic platform for Dick's ideas.
I agree with your remark about the scramble suits, they didn't look good at all. Visually I don't think the "even more advanced" rotoscoping was any better, technically, than Waking Life, and at least Waking Life kept switching up its style, it was way more interesting in that regard.
Decent when it should've and could've been great; just disappointing.
