One movie of his that I really loved was A Beautiful Mind. Well shot, acted, and told. Alicia Nash is really a great character.

It seems his brand of tiresomely dull, comfortably unadventurous, ever-so-worthy conservative respectability is ideal Oscar fodder. Splash was his peak, not much more than a crowd-pleasing little ripple, and (on dry land) it's been downhill ever since. Apollo 13- a fairly involving effort- had the chance to reach up to the stars but preferred to burrow further into flag-waving heroic cliche. When he has something more worthwhile to say, hopefully so will i.
