How come you give Salò top marks, Mikola? Everybody else seems to loath it.

I saw this small clip of Oedipus Rex on youtube. I am VERY VERY eager to watch it. I have put it in my blockbuster queue. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxktJ4iz7CcJohndav, you seem to be only one here who has seen it. Can you comment more on it.

You might want to drag your ass on over to IMDb with that question. He hasn't posted here in a year and a half, unfortunately.
I too have wanted to see his rendition of the Classical Greek plays for a long time.

Nah, to get one decent reply, I'll have to tolerate a lot of immature comments at IMDB. I would rather wait till my DVD arrives from blockbuster, whenever it climbs up my evergrowing queue.

Salo (yes, I have hike up the rating by a star ;D ) Ro.Go.Pa.G. (segment "Ricotta, La") This is a short movie from the collection called called Ro.Go.Pa.G (Rosellini, Godard, Pasolini and Gregoretti). It deals with the themes of capitalism and labor divide through a simple account of a hungry man.

My college library has Oedipus Rex, Medea, Theorem and Hawks and Sparrows, so I'll be moving onto Pasolini shortly.
But Salò is the one I really want to see. Maybe I can download a rip of the new BFI release...
I like the sound of Pigsty too.

I've just downloaded Teorema. How do I find subtitles for it, from eMule?

I'm new to downloading subtitles. Am I looking for a .srt file? Is it supposed to be around 30KB? How does it work, once downloaded; do I open it simultaneously with the video?

I use VLC media player, so this is what I know in that context. You download a .srt file. If your film is called Teorema.avi or something, the subtitle file (.srt) should be named as Teorema.srt for VLC player to recognize. It is a text file with subtitles and time stamps. It is essential that you get the subtitles from the same place where you got the movie, because if the video file does not correspond to the subtitles, it will be out of sync.

Once you have the .srt file with the naming convention I mentioned, it should be in the same folder as the .avi or .mpeg file. VLC player will automatically detect the subtitles. Notes: 1. If you are using VLC (a good idea, as it easily handles a lot of formats without asking you to download codecs and crap) and the subtitles are not being detected, you can manually set it. Ask me if you encounter this. 2. If the subtitles are out of sync, in VLC there is a way to manually sync it. The procedure is not complex.

It should be a .srt file around 0.02 Mb in size. Put the video file and the subtitle file in the same folder, give them the exact same name, and then just play the video. Your player should have an option to play subtitles. I use VLC.
(Or: What svsg said.)
