Josef von Sternberg (1894-1969)Pity there's not been much interest here, and also that i've not seen his admired silents or his later films. A marvellous director, an influence on the greatest of all (well, you know who i mean- i already loved some of his stuff before i started on Mizo). He bathed Dietrich in light. The Scarlet Empress 9/10 The Devil is Woman 9/10 Morocco 9/10 Shanghai Express 8.25/10 Blonde Venus 7.5/10 The Blue Angel 6/10
