I've seen the first season, and think it is fantastic. I look forward to seeing more.

I love it. The show is very good at portraying awkward everyday situations that drive us all crazy.

Which version of The Office? US or UK?

I love the show. Distilled and intensified version of the Seinfeld sitcom (yes, I'm fully aware of Larry David's involvement!). Haven't been keeping up, though (the last episode I saw was the opening of the restaurant which was what?...season 3 or 4?). That's the last episode of season 3.

I love this show but haven't watched any of the episodes in a while.

I haven't seen the US version, but hear it's pretty awful.

I'd like to check it out for sure, out of curiosity reasons if nothing else.
Do you think the original would have been misunderstood completely with American audiences?

Well, was a "US version" necessary? Would the original really have been that unmarketable?

I think Gervais is better then Carrel in the show, but the US supporting cast is way better
On to the topic's show though, I just finished up the 5th Season of Curb, and I am fully convinced that it is the funniest show I have ever seen.

To be honest, more and more, I think David was the actual real genius behind SEINFELD.
I'm just saying....

I don't think Seinfeld ever really declined in quality. "The Comeback", "The Van Buren Boys", "The Yada Yada", "The Serenity Now", "The Summer of George", in fact the entire story of George pretending to be handicapped is hilarious, "The Merv Griffin Show", "The Reverse Peephole", "The Frogger", "The Bookstore", "The Dealership". They're all among my favourite episodes ever - though that list comprises about 150 episodes. ;D
Anyway, I don't know what's more amazingly awesome: Larry David pretending to be a gentile Republican to gain membership of a conservative country club, or Larry David pretending to be an Orthodox Jew to buddy up to the head of the Kidney Consortium to get Richard Lewis moved up on the transplant list.
I can't wait for season six.

Just watched the first five episodes of season 2 in a row. Funniest moment ever, at the Poker game:
"What a cunt! What a cunt!"

Actually, no, that's second funniest. The funniest is the ending to "Trick or Treat". Nothing like a bit of anti-Semitism to the tune of Wagner on the lawn.

I'm still laughing at that Poker game. I thought at the time how oddly comfortable it was for the show, and I thought, "Oh, he's decided to have quite a poignant and realistic moment of couples having banter."
But no, it was all just to set up that amazingly, amazingly awkward line and reaction. The acting was fantastic.
It always is, of course.

^ Or season 6, rather.
Did anyone else watch it? I didn't think it was up to their highest standards, but it was very funny.
