That would probably be in my top 15 of this year. Maybe Capo missed it, though - I'd be surprised if he actually ranks the bottom 3 on his current list higher than Heat.

Oh, it's been a long time... but I did like it.
I hated Pacino's performance, as I normally do. I can't really think of anything else I disliked about it, but nor can I recall anything exceptional.
I loved Toy Story, which I also haven't seen in ages.

I don't know whether I've just not seen the right films or something, but I have never had a problem with Pacino's acting. I never find him "shouting" or "overacting" as he is CONSTANTLY accused to be doing. His performance in Heat is one of my favorites.

I remember that scene... it typifies exactly what I hate about his acting. Also the scene in which he starts screaming "GIMME WHAT I WANT!!!" while shaking the table with his hands. Horrible, shouty rubbish. The only time it found a suitable vessel was in Scarface.

As unsubtle and animated as Pacino is, he's still massively entertaining and always makes me laugh.
DON'T WASTE MY MOTHERFUCKING TIME!!!!

I never find him "shouting" or "overacting" as he is CONSTANTLY accused to be doing. His performance in Heat is one of my favorites. I just checked IMDb, and the films I've seen featuring Pacino are: The Godfather, The Godfather II, Dog Day Afternoon, Scarface, Scent of a Woman, Carlito's Way, Heat, The Devil's Advocate, Insomnia, S1m0ne, and some of Any Given Sunday. I guess it's really only Scarface, Scent of a Woman, Heat and The Devil's Advocate in which he chews the sets down, and only the latter three in which I find it disagreeable. Though I didn't like what I saw of him in Any Given Sunday either.

As unsubtle and animated as Pacino is, he's still massively entertaining and always makes me laugh. I like it in Scarface, but I just find it grating in the others. It's as though he has no interest in how his performance will compliment the film and he's just in there doing his own thing regardless of what's going on around him, trying to 'out act' everybody, and just by turning up the volume. Yes, roughly the same could be said of Jack Nicholson, among others, but his schtick doesn't get on my nerves like Pacino's.

I once did a list on the GBB asking members to post which movies they've seen 25 times or more.
Clueless was on mine.
I've edited my top 10.

Loncraine's Richard III is well worth a watch by the way, for any who haven't seen it. An interesting concept, they took a Shakespeare story and set it in a mid-20th century fictional Britain which is ruled by a Nazi-like regime governed by the devilish Richard III, Ian McKellan in one of his best and more unique performances. It's difficult at times to wade through the intact Shakespearean dialogue, but overall the multitude of theatric blood and guts make the message clear.
