Three wins in 6 years for the ruler of the early and mid 30s! Another film that was light years ahead of everybody else. Not such a strong list after that, aside from possibly the most influential documentary of all time.......
1. The Devil is a Woman - Josef von Sternberg 2. Triumph of the Will - Leni Riefenstahl 3. Composition in Blue - Oskar Fischinger 4. Peter Ibbetson - Henry Hathaway 5. The Ghost Goes West - Rene Clair 6. The Arizonian - Charles Vidor 7. The Informer - John Ford 8. A Night at the Opera - Sam Wood 9. The Lives of a Bengal Lancer - Henry Hathaway 10. The 39 Steps - Alfred Hitchcock
