I just saw the UK trailer before Sherlock Holmes and it looked really good. How was the movie? I thoroughly enjoyed it; two fine performances, witty dialogue, gorgeous production. Some pacing problems, a few clearly extraneous/gratuitous scenes, but a delightful romp overall. I look forward to the sequel.

Awesome, that's good to know since I can't depend on Guy Ritchie.

Haha, this brings back memories of wetdog's almost glowing report on the philosophical ponderings of Revolver... To be fair, I think most of us thought after that total disaster SWEPT AWAY that surely REVOLVER will be Ritchie getting his head out of his ass. In fact, he jammed it up there even further. I didn't bother with ROCK N ROLLA, people I know are split on it. Some quite enjoy it, "Ritchie back in form" (or British caper full of screwjobs) and the others think its bullshit. Then again, that almost explains SHERLOCK HOLMES' reaction I've discertained so far. Downey is great (or water is wet once again), Law is good too, the art direction and FX are spiffy, the script and story either isn't there (which as AVATAR proved, isn't apparently a detriment to popularity) or is flatter than warm Pepsi. The Mirror was absolutely brutal in their review. A backhanded compliment from Ebert: "The less I thought about it, the more I liked it."[/i] Is Mycroft Holmes in the film? That would be nice. Off topic, why is it though that maybe way too many Holmes movies insist upon Moriarty? That fucker only appeared in one goddamn story, and he becomes somehow Holmes' Joker or Lex Luthor. Though to be fair, not everyone gets to "murder" Holmes.

EDIT: Double-checked and he's mentioned in seven total.

True, but he only appeared in the flesh only once...and he's killed off.
So....we're both right?
