The Adventures of Robin Hood William Keighley / Michael Curtiz 1938 USA Robin Hood takes on Sir Guy of Gisbourne and the Sheriff of Nottingham. One of the non-stop great adventures of Hollywood, with awesome set design and art direction, a stirring score, and performances which ooze gusto, not to mention testosterone… it is one of those films in which the hero and villain, both handsome, dashing men, can't fight without some kind of verbal banter to compliment their sword-fighting. It's quite hilarious to watch now, but it's made with so much rousing measure that you can't help but be swept away in all the castle-raids and biting wit. Sizzling, and notable for its early use of Technicolor.

I was a huge fan of the entire Robin Hood story when I was little, so naturally Ive seen this movie 30 times or so. Entertaining stuff. Upon a recent watch, I found it really amusing how often Errol Flynn uses that bellowing laugh of his in this movie. My favorite scene is when Robin brings the dead deer into the castle to show Prince John, then has to escape within a few minutes. Fun stuff
