I told a friend of mine about Tom Cruise now working on that WW2 Hitler assassination movie with Bryan Singer.
His response?
"Hitler and Cruise. Damn, I don't know who to root against!"

Good to see you've voted, Kino.
Wouldn't Streep go into Supporting Performance, though, for A Prairie Home Companion? It's very much an ensemble piece, so that's what I have her for.

It's generally like this every year, Ronnie. Busy final weekend. Tallies are interesting, so far. But we're due three more voters, yet: Omar, Wet Dog and Papa-Giorgio.

Good to see you've voted, Kino. I gave myself an hour to do it and got done well before it was up! Was just feeling lazy. I was thinking if Brando got a lead actor nomination for the Godfather then Streep can get one. It's not like Streep for Prairie will make it to the next round (I think I'm the only one that nominated her for Prairie), anyway.

I nominated her for Supporting, though. I wouldn't have picked up on it otherwise.
To be fair, Brando did play the title character in that film. But I wouldn't say anyone had enough emphasis to be classed as a "lead" in A Prairie Home Companion.
But you don't have to change it, obviously. It just means Streep has less of a chance to get through to final voting.

If Streep got another vote in Supporting, she'd be alongside two others with 2 votes, and the three of them would be in the top five for final voting. (But don't forget we still need votes from Wet Dog, Omar and Papa.)
And yeah, Prairie Home is Adapted.

Well, the whole idea of our Retrospective Award was because me, Wet Dog and a few others on the board, being form outside of the US, didn't get to see a lot of the Best Picture nominations until after these awards. Obviously, we can't have a retrospective award for every category.
The reason I didn't reply (sorry for that) was because you said, either way, you didn't wish to make a change to the nominations, and so it doesn't make a difference. The Descent has one vote in that category, and isn't going to get nominated for final voting. But yeah, I think it's ineligible; if we were to make an exception for one British production's US release, why can't we then make exceptions for all the US releases the Brits have missed out on?
